Εξαιτίας της διαφωνίας να δημιουργηθεί μία κοινή πολιτοφυλακή, εθνικόφρονες και αριστεροί ενεπλάκησαν σε διαμάχη. Η άφιξη προσωπιδοφόρων δημιούργησε περαιτέρω ένταση και χρειάστηκε η βοήθεια της Αστυνομίας για να εξομαλυνθεί η κατάσταση.
Due to the disagreement to create a common auxiliary police force, the nationalists and the leftists came to a conflict. The arrival of EOKA fighters created further tension between the two groups, which was culminated after the police arrived.
